What is Coconut Insider?

Coconut Insider is an online city directory that provides comprehensive and essential information for any establishment doing business in any major city/destination within the Philippines. It is at the same time a real estate listing website. Before anything else, familiarize yourself with the site first. Check-out these subscription pages:

Q: What are you looking for in a sales person?

A: a few very basic but important things. If you don't possess ALL, best not to pursue your application.

  1. punctual - don't be late. If you arrive 8:01 for an 8:00 meeting, you're already late.
  2. sense of urgency - don't do tomorrow what you can already do today - get things done as soon as possible
  3. responsive - reply to an email or text ASAP. Don't wait to be followed-up
  4. do things right the first time - no shortcuts, no band-aid remedies. If the work needs to be redone, then it wasn't done right in the first place.
  5. right attitude and ethics - Coconut Insider is a social enterprise designed to benefit ALL its stakeholders. When we win, nobody loses - everybody benefits:
    • subscribers - they get a webpage with comprehensive info, integrating Facebook and Google Map, ranks in Google, etc., at a competitive price
    • internet users - we provide transparency and comprehensive info to let them make intelligent decisions about products and services listed on Coconut Insider
    • local community - we provide them a one-stop site for products and services they need in their community
    • you, the salesperson - you're getting an above-average compensation package compared to what the industry is providing
Q: Is there a pre-requisite?

A: Two things:

  1. comfort level on the internet
  2. laptop / desktop computer
Q: Yes, I'm interested in earning extra income. What exactly do I have to do?

A: Simple. In a nutshell, you can talk to establishment owners and get them to subscribe their business to Coconut Insider for a one-year period. Or you can talk to people selling or renting their real estate property.

Q: If I get the owner to subscribe, what do I do next?

A: 2 things:

  1. get full payment by check and deposit the check to a bank account (details will be given later). No work will be done unless full payment is made.
  2. get ALL the info/materials needed to code the webpage - logo, 8 pictures + captions, detailed description of location (for Google mapping...address alone is not enough), tagline, contact info, website, etc. Refer to the sample subscription pages to know what info is needed. If the client has a website, get the information from the site. In one email, send all the info to

Once the bank confirms payment, work will commence and the webpage goes live within 7 working days. The owner can suggest minor changes which will be considered. When all changes are done, no more changes will be allowed until the next renewal date, a year later.

Q: How much is the subscription, and how much commission do I get?

A: Keep reading.

Q: How long will the subscription last?

A: One full year from the time it goes live. It is renewable after one year and the webpage can be updated to display new content.

Q: Can I sell anywhere and to any type of business?

A: Coconut Insider caters practically to any ethical type of business on any location in the country - hotels, restos, fitness centers, boutiques, dental, medical, etc. But as a sales representive, you are only allowed to sell to a specific location on a specific category. This location/category will be exclusive to you. Other people may be handling other categories within your same area, but there will not be any overlap in category. Your location and category will be determined according to availability. Example: Dumaguete: Dental.

Q: Okay, I'm in. What do I do now?

A: Email the following info:

  1. full name
  2. address
  3. mobile
  4. date of birth
  5. educational attainment
  6. headshot (to be used as profile picture)
  7. choice of sales location (Quezon City, Naga, Puerto Princesa, etc.)
  8. first choice of category (restobar, restaurant, hotel, dental, medical, etc.)
  9. your second choice of category
  10. BPI account info - branch, account type, account number. If you don't have a BPI account, you can open one using your first commission. Your subsequent commissions will be deposited to this account.
